Alerts
Tempo can alert you to three things:
- when a session opens or closes (
InpAlSesiones), - when a killzone starts or ends (
InpAlKillzones), - and a few minutes before an economic release (
InpAlNoticias).
They all come switched off. Tempo alerts you to nothing you have not asked for, and never when you attach it: if you drag it onto a chart five minutes before a release, it does not greet you with a popup. It does not repeat an alert it has already given either.
Economic releases
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
InpAlMinutos | How many minutes ahead to alert. Default 15 |
InpAlImportancia | High impact only, or medium and high impact |
InpAlSoloPar | Only releases for the chart's two currencies. On EURUSD, the euro's and the dollar's |
The alert gives the symbol, the currency, the release and how long is left:
EURUSD · USD Nonfarm Payrolls in 15 min
The release name comes from MetaTrader's own calendar, in your terminal's language.
Where it alerts you
| Setting | Channel |
|---|---|
InpAlVentana | MetaTrader's alert window, with its sound. On by default |
InpAlSonido | Just a sound, no window (InpAlSonidoFich picks which). It plays only when the window is off: the window brings its own |
InpAlMovil | A notification to the MetaTrader app on your phone |
InpAlCorreo | An email |
To your phone
It is how you find out without looking at the computer. MetaTrader does not run indicators in the phone app, but the notifications sent by the ones on your computer do reach it.
To make it work:
1. In the MetaTrader app on your phone: Settings > Messages, and copy your MetaQuotes ID. 2. In MetaTrader on your computer: Tools > Options > Notifications, tick Enable push notifications and paste the ID. Press Test to see that it arrives. 3. In Tempo, switch on InpAlMovil.
MetaTrader allows two notifications per second and ten per minute, and drops the ones over the limit. Tempo queues them and sends them at that pace, so if several coincide none is lost — they arrive a few seconds apart.
If the ID is not set, Tempo says so once in the Experts journal ("the push notification was not sent...") and carries on working.
By email
You need the mail server set up in Tools > Options > Email. Use it for what you want to read again later; for anything urgent, the phone.
In the Strategy Tester
Push notifications and email do not exist in the Strategy Tester, and Tempo does not try them. Neither does the economic calendar, so there are no release alerts there.
