Installing
If you got it from the MQL5 Market
There is nothing to install. MetaTrader downloads it for you and it shows up in the Navigator, under Indicators > Market. Skip straight to Putting it on a chart.
If you downloaded it from the website
1. In MetaTrader 5, open File > Open Data Folder. An Explorer window opens. 2. Go into MQL5 and then Indicators. 3. Copy the file Tempo.ex5 in there. 4. Back in MetaTrader, in the Navigator, right-click Indicators and choose Refresh.
If the Navigator is not visible: View > Navigator, or Ctrl+N.
Putting it on a chart
Drag Tempo (or Stancel Tempo, if it came from the Market) from the Navigator onto the chart you want. The properties window opens; press OK and you are done.
You do not need to touch any setting to start. Everything comes set to values that work; the settings are there for when you want to change something, not for you to fill in. The alerts, in particular, all come switched off.
Which chart to put it on
Any you like, but it helps to know this:
- The timeframe does not matter for the strip: the whole day is always drawn, on any timeframe.
- Above H4 the shading switches itself off. That is not a limitation: on D1 a single candle covers all three sessions, so tinting it in one session's colour would be saying something false. The strip stays whole; only the tint over the candles goes.
- The symbol does matter for three things: the session range, the highs and lows, and the currency filter of the release alerts.
- You can put it on several charts at once. Each one keeps its own settings.
- Light or dark background, either works. The strip looks at the chart's background colour and uses a light or a dark theme to match.
It lives alongside everything else
Tempo draws the band at the top, shades the background and adds its own high and low lines. It does not touch your objects, your lines, your other indicators or your chart settings, and you can have it on the same chart as anything else.
If you use Stancel in the same terminal, Tempo is separate: they are two different programs and do not get in each other's way.
Removing it
Right-click the chart > Indicators List, select Tempo and press Delete. It goes completely: it removes its lines on the way out and leaves no files behind.
